FAMILY TRIPS

Luxury Sailing Adventure in Corsica (July 2008)

An idyllic beach-hopping two-week tour of the stunning Corsican coast for an extended family of 10 aboard Panasha, our luxury 47ft Catamaran, stocked with 4 windsurfs, 4 double kayaks and snorkeling kit.

Verdict: The holiday of a lifetime, exploring Corsica’s stunning coastline and super beaches with plenty of activities to amuse the kids and the adults. Beach hopping, land trips, exploring sea caves by kayak, windsurfing in deserted bays, snorkeling alongside barracudas in nature reserves, it doesn’t get any better than this.

Middle East Family Adventure (Feb 2008)

A family trip of contrast and wonder discovering the neighbouring countries of Syria and Lebanon. Arriving into lively and cosmopolitan Beirut and hitting the slopes in the high class ski resort of Faraya before traversing the deserts of Syria and the bustling souks of Damascus returning back into Lebanon to the vibrant nightlife in Beirut.

Verdict: An immensely rewarding trip, new cultures discovered and new friendships were made. We explored beautiful ancient cities on camelback, the children paraglided from the mountains of Lebanon to the beach, we quad biked at night in a sandstorm in Syria. We skied beautifully groomed pistes along with exciting off-piste and haggled to buy exotic wares from lively tradesman in the souks of Damascus.

A double family dream holiday exploring the Eastern Cape of South Africa. The trip combined wilderness experiences at TerraPi, Active Earth’s groundbreaking conservation and eco-tourist facility with the 5 star luxury of horse safaris on a private game ranch, with 7km of private beach front.

Verdict: A truly first rate trip that led to personal barriers being surpassed. An excellent blend of activities such as kayaking, surfing, horse riding and adventure trails in contrasting settings of wilderness and luxury…Tracking Rhino’s on horseback was exhilarating…

CORPORATE TRAINING / TEAM BUILDING

South of France Island Bonanza (Aug 2008)

A corporate team of 15 took two luxury catamarans for a car-free 4 day team-building trip. Arriving at the beachside airport of Hyeres they walked to their boats and sailed across to the protected Island of Porquerolles, their base for the 4 days. Teambuilding activities included sailing, mountain biking around the Island, rock climbing / abseiling on sea cliffs, scuba diving, kayaking, snorkeling and beach games. For the final night the two catamarans were attached together and moored off a deserted beach for an all-night ocean party.

Verdict: (CEO) A trip that money could not buy, a visibly improved atmosphere radiated around the office after the trip… As for the CFO, he was too absorbed in windsurfing to want to leave. At 1.45pm we were still sipping Rosé on the boats, we were then taken to the beach by dingy, escorted back to the airport on foot and we were all checked in by 2.15pm.

5 Star Winter Mountain Retreat (Jan 2008)

A corporate conference in a 5 star mountain refuge with Sauna, Jacuzzi and its own hydro-electricity nestled away in the National Vanoise Park at 1,900m altitude. Participants had the choice of reaching the refuge by dog sled, ski-touring skis or snow shoes. We were worried about a lack of nightlife so we brought along our own musical instruments and facilitator / musician.

Verdict: A great and unusual trip in an incredible setting. We took the overnight train to the Alps via Paris which optimised travelling time.
